In our experience we have observed that many organizations have difficult-to-manage "failure points." A number of these failure points are associated with an organization's most basic process - the exchange of information and creation of solutions to  problems. This basic process is where employees, team members, and workgroups must perform the most essential tasks of the organization at the highest level. We have seen destructive habits and behaviors undermine communication and collaboration, draining energy and the chance for greater success from the organization.

Several years ago, we embarked on an experiment to develop a technology that would quickly and effectively neutralize counter-productive habits and provide a vehicle for advanced teamwork and problem solving. Collective Intelligence Solutions exists to bring that development to corporate, government and community service projects which rely on the integrity and creativity of team performance.

~Robert Bystrom and Ham Hayes

Robert Bystrom’s background is in business, education and project management. Since 2000, he has been helping small businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations develop high level cooperation and performance. Involved in researching the life-shaping effects of the personal question since 1983, he co-founded the Open Question Institute in 2000, and has co-developed the theory of question-driven intelligence, the basis of Collective Intelligence Solutions’ breakthrough interactive technologies.

His private coaching practice began in 1982 and has included managers of some of Scandinavia’s largest corporations, including Ericsson and Tetrapak. Prior to that, he was CEO of Springer Athletic Equipment Company in San Francisco. Robert has developed and taught personal communicating skills and authored Communicating for Life--A guide to authentically connecting with yourself and others. In 1997, he produced the Women’s Global Voice, a grassroots vision-building event involving approximately one million people in 126 countries. He currently serves on the board of directors of The Honor Foundation in Bellingham, Washington.

Hamilton Hayes brings over 25 years of executive, line and project management experience in business, aerospace, semiconductor and high technology. Since the late 1990s, "Ham" has concentrated on helping business and government organizations resolve dysfunctional processes and organizational behaviors and achieve exceptional new performance levels. His clients include major US corporations and Canadian and US Government agencies including Johnson Controls, Transport Canada, LifeUSA, Boeing, and FAA.

In coaching and teaching workgroups and business teams, Ham conveys innovative and proven methods that foster creativity and accountability. He has developed new performance analysis and improvement tools that have been applied in manufacturing, human resources, finance and IT. Ham is an early researcher in question-driven intelligence and its application for increasing team creativity and effectiveness. He sees that question-driven methods and technologies provide a remarkable opportunity for organizations to transform what has been one of the most intractable problems for business - realizing the true potential of people, teams and workgroups.
